Buntport's 25th original play runs through December 20th.
Anywhere But Rome chronicles the plight of Ovid, the Roman poet exiled from his home. He's forgotten to pack a copy of his most famous manuscript - the epic poem Metamorphoses - but has brought along two characters from his stories: Tiresias, a blind prophet, and Io, Zeus' lover who has been turned into a cow. The three hitchhike their way across a metaphorical (or maybe literal) wilderness and are picked up by Louis and Carol, a mild-mannered couple from Minnehaha County. The couple have some issues of their own, not the least of which is that Carol is turning into a chicken.
Tickets are $16 ($13 for students and seniors). Call 720-946-1388 for reservations.
